Its high price point — parkas retail at 900 to 1,700 USD — makes it the most counterfeited outerwear brand by value. Authentication has a clear visual anchor: the Arctic Disc arm patch, which every genuine parka, vest, and jacket carries. Canada Goose introduced a hologram label in autumn 2017 as an additional authentication layer. The Expedition Parka, the Chilliwack Bomber, and the Langford Parka are the most counterfeited models.

Key authentication signals

• Arctic Disc arm patch. The circular patch sewn on the left sleeve outer arm reads "CANADA GOOSE" on the upper arc and "ARCTIC PROGRAM" on the lower arc, with five maple leaves on each side. On authentic patches the embroidery is dense and uniform — each maple leaf has defined serrated edges with no loose threads. The typeface is a specific upright medium-weight sans-serif; both "CANADA" and "ARCTIC" are correctly spelled in equal-height letters. On fakes the embroidery is sparse, maple leaf edges are rounded rather than serrated, letter heights are inconsistent, or the text contains misspellings.
• Hologram label (post-autumn 2017). Since autumn 2017 Canada Goose has sewn a hologram label beneath the size tag inside the collar area. The hologram shows a polar bear image — a single standing bear on pieces from autumn 2017, a mother with two cubs on subsequent seasons — that shifts and shimmers when the label is tilted. On authentic labels the image is crisp and dynamic. Counterfeit holograms appear flat or blurred and do not produce the shifting effect under light.
• Interior label stitching. All interior labels on genuine Canada Goose garments are stitched with neat, even tension on all four edges. The stitching uses a consistent thread color that matches the label border. On fakes the stitching is asymmetric, loose at corners, or uses an inconsistent thread color.
• YKK zipper system. Canada Goose uses YKK zippers exclusively on authentic outerwear. The "YKK" marking is molded or stamped into the zipper slider, visible when examined closely. Zippers run smoothly in both directions without binding. Counterfeit garments frequently use non-YKK zippers or faked YKK markings that are shallower or mispositioned on the slider body.
• Button quality and engraving. Snap buttons carry the Canada Goose wordmark or goose logo engraved into the cap face. Authentic buttons have a dark grey matte finish and the engraving is recessed. On fakes the buttons are shiny and lighter in tone, and the engraving is shallow or appears as a stamped surface impression that can be felt as raised rather than recessed.
• Duck down fill quality. Canada Goose jackets use duck or goose down fill specified at 625 fill power (standard) or 800 fill power (Expedition series). Squeezing a panel and releasing produces an immediate full rebound. Counterfeit fill uses lower-quality down or polyester that rebounds slowly or shows uneven distribution across panels.

Serial and reference numbers

Canada Goose garments carry a care and content label specifying fill content, outer shell material, and country of manufacture. Genuine Canada Goose outerwear is manufactured in Canada. Post-2017 garments also carry the hologram label as a secondary verification element. Common counterfeit red flags

• Arctic Disc patch shows rounded maple leaf edges rather than defined serrations, or contains misspellings in the text arc.

• Zipper sliders lack genuine YKK markings or the marking is positioned incorrectly on the slider body.
• Snap buttons are shiny with a light grey tone rather than the authentic dark grey matte finish.
