Help & FAQ
Everything about using BrandCheck, from photo tips to refund policy.
Getting started
How many photos should I upload?▾
At minimum 3 — full front view, label/serial close-up, and stitching close-up. Up to 5 photos total. More clear close-ups = higher confidence.
Do I need to know the brand to check?▾
You can leave the description blank. The AI will identify the brand from logos and labels in the photos. Adding the brand name (e.g., "Dior bag") makes the check faster and more accurate.
What format should photos be?▾
JPEG or PNG. Up to 10 MB per photo. Take photos with good lighting and the item filling most of the frame. Blurry or partial photos lower confidence.
Verdicts and accuracy
What does the confidence score mean?▾
0–100% indicating how strongly visible markers match authentic patterns. 90%+ is strong evidence. Below 50% is multiple red flags. See Methodology for the full scale.
Can BrandCheck miss a fake?▾
Yes — top-tier counterfeits (1:1 factory replicas) can pass purely visual inspection. For purchases above $1,000, we recommend professional in-hand authentication on top of our check.
Why do I sometimes get "uncertain"?▾
Uncertain means we see mixed signals — some markers look authentic, others raise questions, or photo quality limits the analysis. Try better photos with clearer close-ups of the serial, stitching, and hardware.
Brands and items
Which brands are supported?▾
154+ brands across luxury, premium, watches, jewelry, sneakers, streetwear, eyewear, electronics, and perfume. Full list on /brands. If your brand isn't listed, the AI still runs a general authenticity check based on visible craftsmanship cues.
Can BrandCheck verify watches?▾
Yes — Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Cartier, Omega and 10+ others. For watches, photograph the dial, case back, and movement (if visible). Note: photo-only checks can miss internal-movement counterfeits — get an in-person watchmaker check for high-value pieces.
What about cosmetics and perfume?▾
We support 10+ niche perfume brands (Tom Ford, Creed, Le Labo, Byredo, etc.). Photograph the bottle, cap, batch code on bottom, and box. The AI reads batch codes against known formats.
Account and payments
How much does a check cost?▾
$0.49 for one, down to $0.20 per check in the 50-pack. New accounts get 3 free checks. Payment via Wayforpay (web) or Apple In-App Purchase (iOS).
Can I get a refund if the verdict was wrong?▾
If a clearly broken result was returned (e.g., the AI completely misidentified the brand), email support@brandchecker.site with the check ID. Refunds are case-by-case at our discretion.
How long are reports stored?▾
Your reports stay in your history with no automatic expiry — they remain available until you delete them. You can delete any check yourself at any time, or download the PDF / generate a share link.
Privacy
What happens to my photos?▾
Photos are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis, then stored on our server tied to your check. They're only readable by you (and admin/support) unless you generate a share link. They stay in your history until you delete them, and may be used to improve our authentication technology. Full details: /privacy.
Can I share a report with someone?▾
Yes — every check has a "Share Link" button that generates a public URL. Anyone with the link sees the verdict and photos until you revoke it.
